With the association of M/s. Elliott Turbomachinery Co.,
USA in the past and now with M/s. FS-Elliott Co. LLC, USA,
the group has developed from being a sales representative
for centrifugal compressors to being suppliers of complete
systems.
The system packaging includes the following :
A study into the air requirements of the customer to assist
in optimising the compressor selection. This includes understanding
the manufacturing process of the customers and estimating
the total air requirement, the exact location at which the
air is required to arrive at the pressure drop, etc.
This includes the following activities -
- Final selection of the compressor for onward transmission
to our Principal for manufacture.
- The entire system design is carried out which includes
the design of the accessories for the suction side of the
compressor to the discharge side to ensure that the customer
gets the desired air for their process i.e. developing the
Process & Instrumentation Diagram for the project.
- Reading the customer specifications and translating them
into the individual component specifications for procurement
of bought outs.
- Based on the plot plan furnished by the customer, develop
the plant layout, equipment general arrangement diagram,
foundation drawing.
- Based on the equipment layout, draw up the piping general
arrangement and piping isometrics.
- Thermal & mechanical design of the aftercooler &
preparation of the fabrication drawings.
- Sizing & mechanical design of the moisture separator
including demister design & preparation of the fabrication
drawings.
- Sizing of the inlet air filter / after filter and preparation
of the fabrication drawings
- Design of the sub-systems such as the air dryer systems
including skid design & general arrangement / assembly
drawings.
- Electrical / Instrumentation design for the control scheme
(apart from the standard FS-Elliott control system)
Manufacture
The group has in-house capabilities to manufacture and supply
the accessories for the compressed air system such as air
filter housing, suction piping, discharge / bypass piping,
cooling water headers/piping, aftercooler, moisture separator,
after filter, air dryers, air receiver, etc.
Packaging
In addition to the manufactured components, the project department
in conjunction with the design department procure the accessories
required such as pressure/temperature gauges, expansion bellow,
silencer, valves, indicators, transmitters/switches, safety
valves, etc.
The complete system is then packaged and if called for in
the contract, tested at our Mangalore factory, prior to despatch
to site. |
